SciBase announced new research presented at the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) Annual Meeting, highlighting the potential of its Nevisense platform to detect and quantify age-related skin barrier changes.

The study, conducted by researchers at University of California, San Francisco, demonstrated that SciBaseโ€™s Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) technology can identify subtle skin barrier alterations associated with ageing.

Researchers analysed over 700 measurement parameters and developed a โ€œcomposite barrier score,โ€ which showed a strong correlation with age. The study also identified 35 age-associated EIS features in the forearm.

โ€œThis study reinforces that our EIS technology is not just a diagnostic tool for skin cancer, but a versatile platform for deep, non-invasive skin analysis,โ€ said Pia Renaudin, CEO of SciBase.

Nevisense is currently used for melanoma detection and skin barrier assessment in conditions such as atopic dermatitis. The latest findings expand its potential applications into geriatric dermatology and longevity science.
