Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is calling on the Victorian Government to immediately release the long-awaited cohealth review, with more than 179 days having passed since it was commissioned.
RACGP Victoria Chair Dr Anita Muรฑoz said the continued delay is unacceptable given theย scale of clinic closuresย and the impact on vulnerable communities.
โPatients, clinicians and communities deserve transparency,โ she said. โCommunity health clinics are a critical part of our health system, particularly for patients who cannot afford outโofโpocket costs.โ .

The RACGP also called for long-term, sustainable funding for community health services, warning that short-term measures do not provide enough certainty to maintain essential care services.
โCommunity health clinics are a critical part of our health system, particularly for patients who cannot afford out-of-pocket costs,โ Dr Muรฑoz stated.
The College noted that while the Federal Government recently announced additional support for general practice, part of that funding should be directed toward community health services to ensure ongoing access to care.
The RACGP warned that without decisive action, vulnerable patients could continue losing access to essential healthcare services across Victoria.
