AiMed Solutions, the AI and technology arm of Burjeel Holdings, hosted the AI Builders Summit 2026 in partnership with Burjeel Training Academy, where an AI platform developed by Hamdan Basheer of 42 Abu Dhabi won the Gold Prize.
Named PRISM, the platform uses conversational AI to assess patient-reported symptoms, determine urgency levels and guide patients towards the appropriate level of care. It also provides clinicians with decision-support insights to support faster and more informed care.
The Summit received more than 100 registrations from universities and institutions across the UAE. Nineteen finalists progressed to the Live Demo Day, where projects were assessed based on clinical relevance, impact, scalability and real-world potential.

โPRISM started from a simple question: how can we help patients understand how urgent their symptoms are and reach the right level of care sooner? This recognition gives us confidence to take the idea further and continue developing it for real healthcare environments,โ said Hamdan.
The Silver Prize went to Bilal Feroz Khan of Al Ain University for CaseReady AI, which organises patient records and identifies missing information. Khadeja Al Khazraji of Abu Dhabi University received the Bronze Prize for Sanadi AI, a caregiver support platform connecting patients, doctors and caregivers.
Seven additional category awards recognised projects focused on hospital navigation, community health, medical reports, radiology follow-up, referrals and healthcare AI product design. During the ceremony, Burjeel Holdings also announced plans to launch AI Builders Collective to connect winners and finalists and explore developments and opportunities in healthcare AI.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said: โWhat is encouraging is that these young innovators started with real healthcare problems. They looked at where patients and healthcare professionals face difficulties and built ideas around those needs. We believe strongly in the talent emerging from universities and institutions across the UAE, and we want to support these young innovators as they continue their journey.โ
