The official opening of Khasab Hospital by Lady Assayida Ahd Al Busaidi marks a major step in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and expanding advanced medical services in Oman’s Musandam Governorate.
Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, graced the official inauguration of Khasab Hospital, a key milestone in the Sultanate’s ongoing efforts to enhance the health sector and expand access to advanced medical services in the Musandam Governorate.

Upon her arrival, traditional folk art groups from Musandam welcomed the Honourable Lady with performances reflecting Oman’s rich cultural heritage, while students from local schools presented a special programme to mark the occasion. The event highlighted the significance of the new facility for the region’s healthcare landscape.
The Honourable Lady was received by Dr Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health; Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam; Dr Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education; and Dr Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, along with a number of senior officials.
During the ceremony, the Honourable Lady unveiled the commemorative plaque, formally marking the opening of Khasab Hospital. Project officials provided an overview of the hospital’s clinical capabilities, infrastructure and advanced medical equipment, noting that the facility was designed and constructed in line with the highest technical standards to deliver integrated healthcare services across the governorate.
Her Highness also viewed a visual presentation outlining the hospital’s operational readiness, the current status of health services in Musandam and approved development plans aimed at further improving healthcare delivery. During a tour of the hospital, she was briefed on the functions of its various departments, which include Daycare Clinics, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Dialysis, Emergency Services, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Burns, Operating Theatres and Intensive Care, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Laboratories and Sterilization, as well as a Training and Development Centre and administrative and support services.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Honourable Lady recorded a commemorative message in the hospital’s guestbook to mark both her visit to the governorate and the official opening of Khasab Hospital. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several ministers, senior officials and prominent figures from Musandam.
