Aster Hospital Mankhool has become the first hospital in the Gulf region to introduce the Cornaris P80/P80-E Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) platform, a next-generation heart imaging technology designed to provide highly detailed, real-time images from inside coronary arteries. The advanced “3-in-1” imaging system enables clinicians to accurately assess the location, severity, and composition of artery blockages, supporting more precise diagnosis and treatment of complex coronary artery disease.

The technology was recently used during a complex coronary intervention on a 52-year-old patient diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS-NSTEMI). OCT imaging enabled a detailed internal assessment of the affected artery, guiding treatment with a drug-eluting stent, a drug-coated balloon, and intervention on an additional lesion. The procedure successfully restored normal blood flow, and the patient was discharged the following day in stable condition.
