Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has received national and international recognition in the latest pediatric hospital rankings from U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek.
CHLA was included among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the United States in the U.S. News & World Report 2026–27 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings and was also placed on the publication’s Honor Roll for the 18th consecutive year. The hospital was additionally ranked No. 1 among children’s hospitals in California.
The hospital achieved top-10 rankings in seven specialties, including Cancer and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery at No. 4, Orthopedics and Urology at No. 7, Diabetes & Endocrinology at No. 8, Neonatology at No. 9, and Neurology & Neurosurgery at No. 10. CHLA also received national rankings in Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, Nephrology, and Cardiology & Heart Surgery.

“For families traveling to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles from outside the United States, accessing highly specialized pediatric care can feel complex and unfamiliar,” said Yadira Torres, Executive Director of the Center for Global Health. “Our role is to make that experience easier to navigate by connecting families with the right specialists, supporting communication and scheduling, and helping them feel prepared before, during and after their care at CHLA.”
Its Behavioral Health Institute was recognised among the Top 50 hospitals in the Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Health category, highlighting its services for children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health needs.

Internationally, Newsweek ranked CHLA No. 5 in Pediatrics worldwide in its 2027 World’s Best Specialized Hospitals list. The ranking, developed with Statista, considers factors including reputation, accreditation and the use of patient-reported outcome measures.
CHLA provides specialised inpatient, outpatient and community-based pediatric care, with more than 750,000 patient visits annually. The hospital also supports pediatric research and education, with nearly 600 active clinical trials and training programmes for healthcare professionals.
The recognitions come as CHLA marks 125 years of service, with the hospital continuing to provide specialised care for children with complex and rare conditions in the US and internationally.
