Antag Therapeutics has appointed Philip Just Larsen as Chief Executive Officer as the company advances personalized obesity treatment through GIP receptor antagonism.
Philip Just Larsen brings more than 20 years of research and development leadership experience in metabolic diseases and obesity treatment development. He previously served as Chairman of Antag’s Board of Directors since January 2018 and will now lead the company’s executive operations. Jørgen Søberg Petersen has been appointed interim Chairman while the Board searches for an independent successor.

Before joining Antag as CEO, Larsen served as CEO of SixPeaks Bio AG and held senior leadership positions at Bayer AG, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, and Sanofi. During his time at Eli Lilly, he led dual incretin agonist programmes that contributed to the development of tirzepatide and mazdutide.
“It is an honor to lead Antag at such a pivotal time as we prepare to initiate the Phase 2a trial of AT7687, our first-in-class Glucose Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide Receptor (GIPR) antagonist peptide,” said Philip Just Larsen, Chief Executive Officer.
Antag Therapeutics is preparing to initiate the Phase 2a study of AT7687 in mid-2026 and will present new data from its first-in-human study at the 2026 Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in June.
