myAster, the digital healthcare platform of Aster DM Healthcare, has launched โWalk for Herโ in collaboration with Aster Clinics UAE, encouraging physical activity while expanding access to breast cancer screening during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The initiative links every 10,000 steps logged through the myAster app to one free mammogram screening for a woman. Participants have collectively recorded more than 19 million steps, unlocking 1,900 screenings across the UAE. Of these, 236 screenings had been claimed within the first 13 days of the campaign.
Running throughout October, โWalk for Herโ allows residents to contribute towards breast health awareness through everyday activity. Screenings unlocked during the campaign can be booked through the myAster app until 31 December 2026 at participating Aster Clinics UAE locations.

According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Early detection and appropriate screening can help improve outcomes, highlighting the importance of raising awareness and encouraging timely medical assessment.
Nalla Karunanithy, CEO, Digital Health & Omnichannel, Aster DM Healthcare, commented, โCreating greater awareness about breast cancer starts with bringing more people into the conversation. Through โWalk for Herโ, we want to unite communities across the UAE to promote breast health and encourage women to prioritise screening. More than 19 million steps, unlocking 1900 screenings with 236 already claimed, show how collective participation can translate awareness into meaningful action. We hope this initiative inspires more women to prioritise screening and communities to play an active role in encouraging early detection.โ
Dr. Sherbaz Bichu – Groupย Chief Operating Officer-GCC, Aster DM Healthcareย commented, โEarly detection can make a meaningful difference to breast cancer outcomes, but screening has to be accessible and acted upon in time. Through โWalk for Herโ, we are bringing that first step closer to women by connecting a community initiative on myAster with screening at Aster Clinics. Beyond the mammogram itself, our aim is to ensure that women have access to the clinical expertise and care they may need through the wider Aster healthcare network.โ

The initiative forms part of myAsterโs wider preventive healthcare offering, which provides access to consultations, pharmacy services and other healthcare solutions through a digital platform. Through โWalk for Herโ, Aster aims to turn everyday physical activity into an opportunity to support breast health awareness and early detection across the UAE.
