Seegene Inc. has introduced a comprehensive syndromic PCR testing approach for reproductive tract infections (RTIs), combining the simultaneous detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The initiative is part of the Global Million Clinical Study (GMCS), launched to generate real-world clinical evidence and evaluate the effectiveness of disease-specific PCR testing strategies.

Using STAgora™, Seegene analyzed approximately 60,000 HPV and STI co-testing results collected over 42 months. The analysis found that 82% of HPV-positive cases also had STI pathogens, 46% of STI-positive cases were HPV-positive, and 71% of positive cases showed concurrent HPV and STI detection.

According to the company, these findings support the potential value of comprehensive HPV and STI testing for identifying asymptomatic infections, assessing co-infections, and improving reproductive health evaluations, including pregnancy planning and infertility assessments.

Through the GMCS, Seegene plans to further validate the clinical utility of combined HPV and STI testing and build scientific evidence for a new global standard in PCR diagnostics.

The company will present the approach and its future direction at the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM 2026), taking place from July 28–30 in Anaheim, California.
