Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has signed multiple strategic contracts to advance the $260 million King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Medical City project and expand its academic, research and healthcare infrastructure in Bahrain.
Developed with funding from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the medical city spans approximately 82,000 square metres and is expected to complete its first phase this year. The facility will include more than 280 hospital beds and specialised medical services, strengthening Bahrain’s healthcare system while supporting medical education and research.

The medical city is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs, enhance clinical training, boost research capabilities and position Bahrain as a regional destination for specialised healthcare services. The broader infrastructure projects will also improve university facilities, student life and research capacity across the AGU campus.
