The World Health Organization (WHO) and Peking University have signed a two-year collaboration agreement to strengthen global health emergency preparedness through research, training and innovative analytical approaches.

The partnership, running from August 2026 to July 2028, will bring together WHO’s Department of Health Emergency Preparedness and Peking University’s Institute for Global Health to support prevention, preparedness, response and resilience against health emergencies.

The collaboration will focus on three key areas: operational and implementation research, training on WHO preparedness tools, and developing methods to assess preparedness investments and measure their impact. Training will cover tools including WHO benchmarks for strengthening health emergency capacities, simulation exercises, after-action reviews and Dynamic Preparedness Metrics.
