Syriaโ€™s Ministry of Health has allocated more than $10 million to develop healthcare services in Raqqa, with hospital rehabilitation work scheduled to begin in August.

The plan includes upgrading primary healthcare centers, rehabilitating hospitals in Tabqa and Tal Abyad, and adding Maadan Hospital. Key improvements will focus on emergency services, blood banking, chemotherapy, oncology care, and dialysis services.

The Raqqa hospital rehabilitation will be carried out while existing departments continue providing services. The investment may exceed $10 million depending on the findings of technical assessments.

He noted that the cost could exceed $10 million depending on the findings of technical studies.Regarding the childrenโ€™s hospital, he said, “the building, formerly used as a nursing school, had been equipped by the Medical Services Department of the Ministry of Defense in preparation for its launch as a childrenโ€™s hospital.”

The provinceโ€™s healthcare capacity will also be expanded through two new rural dialysis centers, each supporting additional dialysis services. The existing dialysis unit has 40 machines, with rehabilitation underway for non-operational sections.

The initiatives are part of broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to specialized medical services across northeastern Syria.
