Dubai, UAE: Burjeel Holdings has consolidated its four existing day surgery centres in the UAE under a dedicated business vertical as it prepares to expand its ambulatory and same-day care operations across the region.
The current UAE network includes centres in Al Reem Island, Shahama, Al Dhafra and Al Dhahir in Al Ain. Under the new structure, the facilities will operate with shared clinical and operational oversight, along with unified financial management and accountability for quality, patient experience and business performance.
The Groupโs mid-term expansion plan includes four additional day surgery centres in the UAE and two in Saudi Arabia, creating a broader platform for ambulatory care.
The dedicated centres will support elective and minimally invasive procedures that do not require overnight hospital stays. This model can also help preserve hospital operating rooms and inpatient capacity for more complex tertiary and quaternary care.

The platform is designed to provide a consistent operating framework for future centres, including new developments and partnerships across the UAE and selected GCC markets.
The expansion forms part of Burjeel Holdingsโ wider 18-asset mid-term growth programme across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the GCC, covering multiple healthcare segments.
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said, โDay surgery is not simply an extension of the traditional hospital model. It has its own operating dynamics, capital requirements, and growth potential. Our existing centres have given us a strong foundation in the UAE, and bringing them together as one business gives us the structure and accountability to scale the model further.โ
