Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, has joined the Executive Board of the World Economic Forumโs Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative, bringing a Middle East health-system perspective to the global effort to advance digital healthcare.
Led by the World Economic Forumโs Centre for Health and Healthcare, the DHT Initiative focuses on digital health, health data, artificial intelligence, and intelligent models of care to improve healthcare delivery and support responsible adoption of innovation at scale.
Dr. Shamsheer joins a board comprising global healthcare leaders, ministers, and representatives of multilateral institutions. His appointment reflects his experience in healthcare system development, advanced clinical technology, AI integration, and digital infrastructure through Burjeel Holdings

Launched in 2024, the DHT Initiative has engaged more than 200 organisations and focuses on health data collaboration, AI innovation and regulation, virtual health, digital health incentives, and intelligent health systems.
Abu Dhabi is also part of the initiativeโs global Pathfinder approach, with a focus on intelligent health systems, international collaboration, and developing scalable approaches to healthcare transformation.
