Integra LifeSciences announced the appointment of Stuart M. Essig as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2026. Essig, who currently serves as Chairman of the Board, succeeds Mojdeh Poul and will continue in his role as chairman.

The company also appointed Michael McBreen as Chief Commercial Officer. McBreen previously served as Executive Vice President and President of Codman Specialty Surgical.

Essig brings more than 30 years of experience in the medical technology and healthcare industries and previously served as Integra’s CEO from 1997 to 2012.

Regarding McBreen’s appointment, Essig said: “Mike is exceptionally well-suited for this role with deep commercial relationships. His appointment is an important part of how we move forward.”

Integra stated that the leadership changes are aimed at strengthening execution, enhancing customer engagement, and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.
