The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has ordered the precautionary recall of a batch of three-layer face masks after quality inspections identified foreign materials and signs of contamination in some units.
The recall affects batch number 20251015 of the product NIN 160 FMP โ NML Face Mask CG Blue, following a complaint about its quality.
EDE has instructed the local distributor to withdraw all quantities of the affected batch from the UAE market and ensure that recalled products and remaining stocks are isolated and quarantined. The distributor must also prevent further distribution and provide the authority with details of imported, distributed, recalled and remaining quantities, along with a list of distribution locations.
Healthcare professionals, healthcare facilities and pharmaceutical establishments have been directed to stop selling, supplying, distributing or using masks from the affected batch. Facilities must identify and quarantine any remaining stock, return the products to the supplier or distributor, and maintain documented records of the quantities handled.

EDE advised healthcare providers and consumers to report product quality concerns and any associated adverse incidents through its approved reporting channels. The precautionary recall aims to prevent further circulation of potentially contaminated masks and protect public health.
