Metabolic (formerly GluCare.Health) has launched a three-month prospective observational study to evaluate the effectiveness of the Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system in improving glycaemic control among patients with type 2 diabetes in the UAE.
The study will assess changes in HbA1c and other key glucose monitoring metrics within Metabolic’s multidisciplinary, technology-enabled care model. All participants will receive Dexcom G7 sensors free of charge, ensuring equal access throughout the study.

Dr. Ihsan Almarzooqi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Metabolic, commented: โContinuous glucose monitoring is one of the most powerful tools available for understanding a patientโs metabolic reality in real time. Our clinical team will gain a depth of insight that goes far beyond what standard clinic visits can provide. This study will give us robust evidence for the role of CGM within a structured T2D care programme, and we expect the findings to meaningfully inform how we deploy this technology at scale.โ

The research aims to generate real-world evidence on the use of CGM in structured type 2 diabetes care, particularly in the Gulf region where diabetes prevalence remains high. Metabolic said the findings could help guide wider adoption of CGM technology to improve long-term diabetes management and patient outcomes.
