The United Arab Emirates has expressed its solidarity with Afghanistan over the victims of an earthquake that struck the eastern part of the country, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed the UAEโs sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the people of Afghanistan over this tragedy, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Afghanistan earthquake death toll
A powerful 6.0 magnitude quake struck eastern Afghanistan late Sunday, especially devastating Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. The death toll has risen to at least 812 with thousands injured, and entire villages, including those made of mud-brick, have been leveled. Rescue operations are being hampered by landslides, damaged infrastructure, and heavy rains. The Taliban administration is appealing for urgent international aid, while countries like the UAE, UK have already pledged emergency support to assist survivors
