The decision applies to residents whose visas expired on or after 28 February 2026 while they were outside the UAE and unable to return due to suspended flights or restricted airspace. Under the measure, affected residents can enter the country without applying for a new entry visa and regularise their legal status without incurring financial penalties.
The temporary measure will remain in effect for one month starting 28 February 2026 and will be valid until 31 March 2026. Authorities said the step responds to exceptional circumstances that prevented many residents from renewing their residency on time.
Officials noted that the decision reflects the UAEโs humanitarian approach during emergencies and supports families by allowing residents whose visas expired abroad to reunite and resume their lives in the country. The authority also confirmed that emergency response and business continuity plans are in place across airports and operational locations to ensure smooth travel procedures and assistance for those affected by flight delays or rescheduling.
Residents were urged to follow official channels for updates and any regulatory measures related to the situation.
