Bayer and Henry Ford Health have announced a strategic research partnership to expand patient access to clinical trials and accelerate the development of innovative treatments.

As part of the collaboration, Henry Ford Health has been selected as one of only four U.S. academic health systems to join Bayer’s strategic research network, reflecting its strong clinical research capabilities, integrated care network, and diverse patient population.

The partnership will initially focus on cardiovascular and renal diseases, oncology, and women’s health, with the goal of improving access to clinical trials, reducing participation barriers, and accelerating the delivery of new therapies.

The organisations will collaborate across the clinical trial process by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, and electronic health record data to optimise trial design, identify eligible patients, and generate real-world evidence to support drug development.

The collaboration also includes initiatives to advance healthcare data science, support innovation, and strengthen clinical research capabilities, with plans to expand into additional therapeutic areas over time.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to making clinical research faster, more inclusive, and more accessible while helping bring innovative treatments to patients sooner.
