His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, visited Aster Pharmacyโs distribution centre at Dubai Industrial City, highlighting the importance of innovation and private-sector contribution to the UAEโs healthcare system.
During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the operations of the 145,000-square-foot facility and its role in supporting the distribution of medicines and medical supplies across the UAE and GCC. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in ensuring reliable access to high-quality healthcare services.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, and Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO, presented an overview of the facility and its technology-enabled operations.

The distribution centre uses advanced automation and robotics to improve efficiency, accuracy and delivery times. It currently supports around 75,000 transactions each day across Asterโs UAE network of 350 pharmacies, 120 medical clinics and 15 hospitals.

Sheikh Hamdan commended the facilityโs innovative approach and expressed support for Asterโs continued efforts to adopt technology and enhance healthcare services in the UAE.
The visit also underscored Dubaiโs broader focus on technology-driven healthcare infrastructure and stronger public-private partnerships.
