Saudi Arabiaโ€™s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a voluntary medical campaign in Abuja, Nigeria, to provide 108 cardiac surgeries and catheterisation procedures in collaboration with the Al-Balsam Association for Health Training and Development.

The initiative aims to perform 28 open-heart surgeries and 80 diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterisation procedures. The treatments are being carried out at Nizamiye Hospital by a team of 10 Saudi volunteers, including specialist doctors, consultants, nurses, technicians and administrative staff.

The visiting medical team is working alongside Nigerian healthcare professionals to assess patients and deliver treatment in clinical settings and operating rooms. The campaign is intended to expand access to specialised cardiac care for patients who may face financial barriers to treatment.

The initiative forms part of KSreliefโ€™s voluntary medical programme, which deploys healthcare teams to countries in need to provide specialised medical services. Through these missions, the centre supports access to essential treatment and strengthens healthcare assistance for vulnerable communities.

The campaign also reflects Saudi Arabiaโ€™s broader humanitarian efforts to support international healthcare initiatives and improve access to specialised medical procedures in underserved populations.
