Diabetes remains a pressing health issue in the UAE, ranking 15th worldwide for prevalence, with 25% of adults affected according to recent data. Many individuals are diagnosed only during routine checks, while countless others miss early interventions, elevating the risk of serious complications, such as diabetic retinopathy, heart disease, kidney failure, and neuropathy. RAKDC’s proven approach has already demonstrated that comprehensive lifestyle transformation can lower or even reverse type 2 diabetes, as last year’s results showed: more than 5,000 participants reduced their average HbA1c from 7.49% to 5.07%, moving out of the diabetic range and averaging 4–5kg weight loss within three months, all without medication changes.

RAK Diabetes Challenge 2025: Dates, registration, and categories

• Campaign Dates: August 29- November 13, 2025
• Who Can Join: UAE residents, aged 18+, with an HbA1c of 5.7 or higher
• Registration Deadline: August 31, 2025, sign up now at the official RAK Diabetes Challenge website.
• Walk-In Registration: August 29–31, 9 AM–5 PM at the RAK Hospital Tent Facility in Ras Al Khaimah.

How to participate: Physical and virtual options

• Physical category: Free BMI and HbA1c testing and lifestyle assessment at RAK Hospital Tent Facility (Aug 29–31). Participants must visit the hospital in person for their evaluations.
• Virtual category: Get tested at certified clinics anywhere in the UAE at your own cost, then upload test results and complete a lifestyle survey online.
• Corporate wellness: Corporate teams with the most participants and best average improvements in HbA1c will compete for special trophies and awards.

RAK Hospital OPD and corporate clients are automatically enrolled, provided their test results meet the eligibility criteria.
