The Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), organized a workshop on Qatar’s National Tuberculosis Plan 2026–2030, bringing together representatives from government and private health entities and key partners involved in tuberculosis prevention and control.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the plan’s strategic objectives and strengthen national efforts to combat tuberculosis in line with WHO’s global strategy for disease elimination. The National Tuberculosis Plan provides a comprehensive roadmap focused on reducing the burden of the disease, enhancing prevention measures, and supporting Qatar’s progress toward the pre-eradication stage.

Experts from WHO reviewed the global and regional tuberculosis landscape and discussed Qatar’s current situation, strategic priorities, implementation mechanisms, and performance monitoring indicators. The sessions also highlighted the importance of early case detection, expanded screening, treatment of latent tuberculosis infections, and strengthened contact tracing among high-risk populations.

Participants emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between national authorities and international partners to support the successful implementation of the National Tuberculosis Plan 2026–2030 and achieve its long-term public health goals.
