Dr. Ahmed Salama is a distinguished academic and clinician in the field of Pediatric Dentistry and Dentistry for Children with Special Needs. Currently serving as Associate Professor at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE, Dr. Salama brings over two decades of experience in dental education, patient care, and clinical training.

Graduating with honors from Cairo University in 2002, Dr. Salama went on to earn his Master’s degree in 2010 and a Doctorate in Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health in 2015 from the same institution. He began his academic career there, progressing from Assistant Lecturer to Associate Professor, and played a pivotal role in shaping the pediatric dentistry curriculum. His tenure includes part-time teaching at Misr International University (MIU) from 2015 to 2021, and external examining roles at several prominent Egyptian institutions, including 6th of October University, MTI University, and Future University.

Dr. Salama is also an appointed board member of the Egyptian Fellowship for Family Dental Medicine, where he contributes to postgraduate assessments and standards. He has led numerous foundational and advanced pediatric dentistry programs and workshops under the Ministry of Health, the National Training Institute, and private dental academies in Egypt, reflecting his deep commitment to clinical education and capacity-building in oral health care for children.

Renowned for his active participation in national and international conferences, Dr. Salama has presented a wide array of lectures and workshops and holds multiple publications in respected local and international journals. His research and clinical interests focus on child behaviour management, preventive pediatric dentistry, and holistic and specialized dental management for children with special needs.

Before relocating to the UAE, Dr. Salama served as a Consultant in Pediatric Dentistry at Esthetica Hospital for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Tiba Hospital in Egypt. He also managed two private clinics, providing comprehensive pediatric dental care. Currently, in addition to his academic role, Dr. Salama serves as a Pediatric Dentistry & Special Needs Specialist at Thumbay Dental Hospital (TDH) and Thumbay University Hospital (TUH), Ajman, where he continues to deliver specialized, comprehensive care for children with complex dental and medical needs.
