26 September 2024- Following extensive Israeli airstrikes on multiple areas in Lebanon on Monday, 23 September, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is intensifying its efforts to meet the growing humanitarian needs. MSF teams are providing general healthcare and essential relief supplies to those displaced by the conflict. According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, 558 people have been killed and 1,835 injured, with thousands more forced to flee their homes in search of safety.
MSF is distributing non-food items, such as mattresses and hygiene kits, to collective shelters across the country. Mobile medical units are delivering general healthcare and mental health services to those in need. The organization has also launched mental health helplines to provide psychological support to displaced and affected individuals.

As the situation unfolds, MSF is closely coordinating with its partners and hospital networks to offer additional support. In southern Lebanon, Beirut, and other areas, some MSF staff have left their homes and are facing hours of traffic congestion while seeking safer locations. MSF teams in southern Lebanon and Baalbek-Hermel continue to report bombardments near their homes, as Israeli warplanes conduct ongoing airstrikes. Many staff members in these areas remain sheltering in place amid the escalating conflict.
