Dr Lachlan Dalli from the Stroke and Ageing Research Group at the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health has been honoured with the prestigious 2025 Bethlehem Griffiths Research Foundation (BGRF) Emerging Researcher of the Year Award. This award celebrates outstanding early career researchers from Victoria who demonstrate research excellence, innovation, and leadership potential in progressive neurological diseases, stroke, or palliative care.
“It’s an incredible honour to receive this award from the Bethlehem Griffiths Research Foundation,” Dr Dalli said. “Stroke is a leading contributor to the burden of disease, and over the past seven years, my research has used big data to identify critical gaps and opportunities for better stroke prevention. This award is a welcome recognition of that work, made possible by the unwavering support of an incredible team of mentors, collaborators, and patients.”
Dr Dalli’s research focuses on improving quality of care and outcomes for stroke patients through innovative big data approaches. As a current National Heart Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, he has established himself as an emerging leader in pharmacoepidemiology, which is the study of medication and vaccine utilisation and real-world effects in populations.

This national recognition reinforces Dr Dalli’s significant contributions to stroke prevention research and his potential to drive future innovations in neurological healthcare. We are pleased to congratulate Dr Dalli on this wonderful achievement.
