The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has introduced a new 24/7 WhatsApp service that provides access to a registered medical products directory. This initiative is part of the ministry’s commitment to digitization and patient empowerment.
Accessible via smartphones, this service ensures that essential healthcare information is available at any time from credible sources. The integration with WhatsApp aims to streamline access to crucial data and improve the overall customer experience.
The launch took place during GITEX Global 2023 in Dubai, reflecting the ministry’s ongoing efforts to bolster public health awareness, empower individuals with accurate information about suitable medications, promote adherence to treatment plans, and reduce medication errors. This move aligns with MoHAP’s goal to establish itself as a leading digital health government entity, dedicated to providing customer-centric services.
The medical products directory features a comprehensive list of medicines and medical products officially registered through the ministry’s website. Users can easily inquire about medicines registered in the UAE, obtaining detailed information about each drug, including its name, active ingredients, pharmaceutical form, package size available in the country, and selling price.
HE Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, said “The medical products directory also facilitates easier access for medical professionals and pharmacists to view registered and licensed medicines, searchable by trade or scientific name. The newly developed interactive platform, available in English, offers a distinctive experience aligned with international best practices.”
