Magrabi Health has become the first healthcare network worldwide to receive the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) accreditation as a โ€œNetwork of Excellence in Ophthalmology,โ€ marking a major recognition of its specialised eye-care services.

The accreditation follows a comprehensive evaluation of Magrabi Healthโ€™s healthcare facilities and ophthalmology specialists against international standards covering clinical quality, patient safety, outcomes, operational performance and patient experience.

The assessment also reviewed surgeonsโ€™ expertise, multidisciplinary care, consultation services and the availability of advanced ophthalmic infrastructure, equipment and technologies. According to Magrabi Health, meeting the SRC requirements reflects its efforts to standardise clinical practices and provide consistent, high-quality care across its network.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Mutasim Alireza, Chief Executive Officer, Magrabi Health, said: โ€œWe are proud at Magrabi Health to be the first healthcare network in the world to receive the โ€˜Network of Excellence in Ophthalmologyโ€™ accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). This achievement reflects our steadfast commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality, achieving the best clinical outcomes, and providing an exceptional patient experience throughout every stage of the healthcare journey.โ€

The recognition builds on Magrabi Healthโ€™s more than seven decades of experience in ophthalmology, including milestones in corneal transplantation, LASIK and the use of artificial intelligence for early diabetic retinopathy detection.

Magrabi Health plans to further expand its Centres of Excellence, invest in advanced ophthalmic technologies, support research and innovation, and strengthen medical education and training as part of its future growth strategy.

Dr. Abdulrahman Barzangi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer / Chief Operating Officer, Magrabi Health, emphasized that “the accreditation was the result of an integrated institutional effort across all of the groupโ€™s facilities. This included standardizing clinical practices and protocols, strengthening collaboration between medical and operational teams, investing in training, as well as conducting regular reviews and measuring performance indicators. These efforts helped establish an institutional culture focused on quality and continuous improvement, enabling the group to meet the requirements of this global accreditation.”
