The Kuwait Ministry of Health has confirmed 160 cases of methanol poisoning linked to contaminated alcoholic beverages, with 23 fatalities reported. In its official post on X , the Ministry emphasized that most of the affected individuals are of Asian nationalities.
Health officials revealed that most of the patients were admitted to intensive care units, with many requiring mechanical ventilation and urgent kidney dialysis. The ministry said it is working around the clock with security authorities to monitor and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The statement highlighted that the initial wave of cases involved 60 people, but the number has continued to climb as more patients have been identified. The ministry issued a strong warning to the public to avoid the consumption of such beverages, stressing the severe and potentially fatal consequences of methanol poisoning.
Authorities have urged residents to report any suspected cases immediately through the countryโs emergency hotlines or other approved communication channels. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and preserving lives, calling for community cooperation in addressing the crisis.
