H.E. Al Sayegh added that Emirati martyrs have proved that this nation has honourable men to defend it, and righteous heroes to raise its flag with pride on every field of duty while instilling in future generations the enduring values of allegiance and heroism.

Noblest ideals of sacrifice

The Minister said: “The sacrifices of our martyrs will forever remain a beacon guiding generations toward paths of courage and dignity and a source of inspiration for all who translate their love for the UAE into steadfast dedication and giving.

He emphasised that the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has established a deeply humane approach that continuously honours the families of the martyrs and immortalises the legacy of those who embodied the noblest ideals of sacrifice and devotion.

Renewed pledge

His Excellency added: “Commemoration Day is both a remembrance and a renewed pledge to the sons of the nation who gave their lives for its pride and dignity. Their blood has written the story of the UAE, a nation of distinction and leadership, whose achievements are safeguarded by our Armed Forces and upheld by the values of tolerance and generosity.”

Al Sayegh noted that the martyrs will forever remain the guiding light for future generations and an enduring example of love for the homeland and sacrifice, enabling the UAE to continue its journey toward a prosperous future in honour of its heroic martyrs.

November 30, Commemoration Day

Commemoration Day is a national occasion dedicated to honoring the UAE’s martyrs who sacrificed their lives in military, civil, and humanitarian service to the nation. Declared in 2015 by the late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in remembrance of Salem Suhail Khamis, the first Emirati soldier to give his life in the line of duty in 1971, the day stands as a national symbol of honor and recognition. It reflects the UAE’s enduring respect, gratitude, and commitment to preserving the legacy of its heroes and strengthening the nation’s unity and resilience.
