Future Health โ A Global Initiative by Abu Dhabi is calling for a shift from reactive treatment to anticipatory healthcare, emphasising prevention, precision medicine and early intervention ahead of the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, scheduled for October 20โ22.
Under the theme โTo Sense is to Predictโ, the summit will explore how advances in genomics, artificial intelligence, data and precision medicine can help healthcare systems identify risks earlier and improve health outcomes. Discussions will also address the policies, investments, workforce capabilities and public trust needed to translate scientific progress into effective care.
H.E. Dr Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health โ Abu Dhabi, said:ย โThe next chapter of health will be defined by our ability to act earlier. Scientific and technological advances are helping us understand risk with greater precision, but their value lies in how effectively we translate that understanding into better care and healthier lives. Through Future Health, Abu Dhabi is bringing together the expertise, policy perspectives and investment needed to advance this shift. Our ambition is to connect discovery with practical action, helping health systems anticipate challenges, strengthen resilience and support longer, healthier lives.โ

The initiative has highlighted the Abu Dhabi Blueprints, a knowledge-sharing series covering six priority areas: longevity, healthy living, fertility, cancer, rare diseases, and genomics and therapeutics. The series aims to share Abu Dhabiโs healthcare experience and insights with international policymakers and health systems.
Adnan Anjum, Group Chief Commercial Officer, PureHealth, said: โFor us, the future is about sensing early, intervening early and avoiding the risks that can make a personโs life much more difficult later. There are many events where people come together and talk about the future of health, but there are very few where the future is actually being built. Here, we are developing solutions and exporting those solutions.โ
Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group CEO, M42, said: โBy connecting insights at both the individual and community levels, we can diagnose diseases earlier, design targeted therapies and personalise care.โ He added โI cannot see a better platform globally for those discussions to take place and for us to determine how we deliver impact at national and global scale.โ

Hamad Almarzooqi, Deputy Group CEO, Mubadala Bio, said: โUnderstanding enables us to develop the products the country needs, cover the whole healthcare journey and build a resilient life-sciences industry for the future of the UAE. The future of health and innovation cannot be built by a single entity or a single company. It requires the whole ecosystem to help shape it.โ
Allan Boston, COO, Institute for Healthier Living Abu Dhabi, said: โIf we can empower individuals with knowledge about what is influencing their future health, we can change their attitudes towards how they live their lives.โ He added โThat is one of Abu Dhabiโs key differences, and perhaps one of the reasons it is a leader in this field: the focus is on action.โ
Future Healthโs year-round programme includes research, innovation and global dialogues, alongside initiatives such as the Future Health Challenge, developed with MIT Solve, and whitepapers on longevity and healthy living. The three winning teams from the inaugural challenge will attend the summit to present solutions focused on early risk detection, population monitoring and faster decision-making by health authorities.
More than 130 speakers are expected to participate across three days, addressing anticipatory health, health financing, womenโs health, global health security and infectious disease preparedness.
