Burjeel Cancer Institute at Burjeel Medical City has been designated an Oncology Centre of Excellence for Breast Cancer by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), recognising its specialised treatment capabilities, research and patient-centred care.
The designation highlights the institute’s comprehensive breast cancer programme, including its One-Step Breast Clinic, which provides consultations, imaging, biopsies, pathology reviews and treatment planning within 24 hours. The pathway aims to accelerate diagnosis and reduce delays in initiating treatment.
The institute also offers advanced diagnostic and treatment services, including contrast-enhanced mammography, oncoplastic and minimally invasive surgery, and a specialised radiation oncology programme. Its UAE-wide mobile mammography initiative supports breast cancer screening and awareness.
