March 2026- Dubai Health has officially launched a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, marking a significant step in advancing specialized care for children with heart conditions. The facility was established through Al Jalila Foundation under its “The Hope Fund” initiative, with notable support from Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, whose contribution is recognized on the hospital’s Giving Wall.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior healthcare leaders, including Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr. Abdulla Al Khayat; Dr. Amer Al Zarooni; Dr. Tarek Fathey; and Dr. Mohamed Al Awadhi.
Al Jalila Children’s Hospital continues to strengthen its pediatric cardiology services, performing approximately 200 cardiac surgeries each year, alongside more than 300 cardiac catheterization procedures. These figures underline Dubai Health’s capacity to provide comprehensive and highly specialized treatment for a wide range of cardiac conditions in children.
The newly inaugurated unit aligns with Dubai Health’s “Children First” approach, enhancing both clinical care and patient experience. Designed around a family-centered model, the facility allows parents to stay close to their children, with bedside accommodations and a dedicated family space aimed at creating a supportive and comfortable environment.
