Dr. Usman Ahmad, Department Chair of Thoracic Surgery, earned the Innovator of the Year Award. He was recognized for revolutionizing treatments for end-stage lung diseases. Under his guidance, the hospital performed the UAE’s first pulmonary thromboendarterectomy, a rare procedure globally. Thus, Dr. Ahmad’s expertise is instrumental in driving the lung transplant program, aligning with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s vision to make the emirate a premier healthcare destination.
