Dubai, UAE- Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman of the Emirati Al Habtoor Group, has extended a helping hand to the people of Gaza, donating a fleet of fully equipped ambulances to strengthen their healthcare infrastructure. This act of compassion comes amidst the ongoing Israeli blockade. The blockade has severely hampered the delivery of essential medical services to Palestinian residents.
Al Habtoor, commenting on the donation, stated, “It is an imperative duty for every Muslim and Arab, and for everyone who takes human values as their calling, to stand by our brothers in the Gaza Strip, especially in these circumstances. We have been committed to that since the 1970s. The suffering of our Palestinian brothers is great, and we must all offer what God Almighty enables us to do to support their steadfastness.”
The Egyptian Tribal and Families Council facilitated the meticulous procurement and outfitting of ambulances with the latest medical advancements in Egypt.
They then handed over the ambulances to the Palestinian Red Crescent Gaza through the Egyptian Rafah crossing. Security oversight and coordination were provided by the Egyptian Armed Forces.
‘’This donation reflects the spirit of solidarity and humanitarian support to which Khalaf bin Ahmed Al Habtoor is committed,” stated Islam Kamal Ghoneim, representative and CEO of the Al Habtoor Group – Egypt. “We hope that these cars will provide immediate support to improve the health conditions of our people in Gaza.”
Ghoneim added: “We thank and appreciate the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Tribal Council, and the Egyptian families. They enabled us to implement this humanitarian initiative in light of the almost impossible conditions for delivering aid. Without them, we would not have been able to do so.”

Al Habtoor’s philanthropic work extends far beyond this recent ambulance donation. In 2012, he contributed substantially to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). This demonstrated his timely support for Palestinian refugees. He has also employed hundreds of Palestinian workers and created job opportunities for thousands of Palestinian refugees, promoting economic empowerment.
