Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), a subsidiary of PureHealth, has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF) to improve access to specialised healthcare for more than 50,000 civilian and military pensioners and their beneficiaries. The agreement was signed during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, with a focus on healthy ageing, preventive care and improving quality of life.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), SSMC will introduce dedicated healthcare access pathways, including priority medical appointment bookings and a dedicated call centre. These services aim to make it easier for registered pensioners to access specialised treatment and receive timely medical support.
The collaboration will also explore initiatives in preventive healthcare, wellness programmes and health awareness activities, alongside participation in community events.
Dr. Marwan Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer at SSMC, said: โHealthy ageing is about preserving independence and quality of life, with the right care and support as peopleโs needs change. Through our partnership with Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, we aim to make timely, specialised healthcare easier for pensioners to access and navigate. Drawing on SSMCโs expertise and dedicated services, our focus is to provide coordinated, personalised care that helps pensioners maintain their wellbeing and independence.โ

H.E. Khalaf Abdullah Al Hammadi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, said: โAt Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, we believe that our responsibility towards pensioners goes beyond ensuring their financial stability. It extends to empowering them to enjoy healthy, fulfilling, and stable lives during retirement after years of dedication and contribution to the nationโs development.โ
Aligned with the UAEโs Year of the Family, the initiative highlights the importance of helping older citizens maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection with their families and communities.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment by SSMC and ADPF to strengthening healthcare support for retirees and enabling them to enjoy healthier, more fulfilling lives.
