Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain’s healthcare sector is set for further expansion following a strategic partnership between the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and Mubadala Health Bahrain to establish a new multispecialty healthcare facility in the Kingdom.

The agreement, signed during Gateway Gulf 2026, aims to attract investment, strengthen specialised medical services and create more than 200 employment opportunities for Bahraini professionals.

Mubadala Health Bahrain, a joint venture between M42 and Bahrain-based HealthVision, plans to develop a multispecialty hospital in Bahrain Bay. The facility is expected to offer 20 medical specialties, alongside advanced diagnostic and treatment services.

A key feature of the project will be the integration of artificial intelligence-powered genetic testing, genomics and precision medicine. These technologies are intended to support more personalised, predictive and preventive approaches to healthcare.

The anticipated recruitment will cover medical consultants, specialist physicians, healthcare professionals, medical support teams and administrative staff. The initiative is also expected to encourage knowledge transfer and provide opportunities for Bahraini talent to develop expertise in specialised medical fields.

Her Excellency Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund Tamkeen said, “This investment aligns with our strategic direction to support sustainable economic growth by attracting high-value investments that contribute to creating promising employment opportunities for Bahrainis and providing career development opportunities in these emerging specializations. We believe that such projects play a vital role in enhancing the Kingdomโ€™s competitiveness and reinforcing its position as a regional hub for innovation in high-potential sectors.”

The investment further strengthens economic ties between Bahrain and the UAE while supporting Bahrain’s ambition to become a regional destination for advanced healthcare services and medical innovation.

Dr. Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, Chief Executive Officer of M42 Bahrain, said: โ€œWe extend our deepest appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Ministerโ€™s Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), for the vital role Tamkeen plays in supporting Bahraini talent through employment, training and professional development opportunities in high-priority sectors.โ€
