The Authority of Social Contribution, Ma’an and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association in Gulf (PHRMAG) have announced a strategic partnership to improve access to treatment for oncology and rare disease patients in Abu Dhabi.
Announced on 7 July, the collaboration seeks to build a sustainable funding model integrated with the national health insurance system, targeting patients most in need of advanced therapies. It brings together public and private stakeholders with a shared aim of delivering long-term care continuity and supporting family stability during health crises, in line with the objectives of the Year of the Family.

Ma’an will manage the distribution of contributions according to agreed project milestones, with a dedicated committee holding monthly reviews to track progress and guide strategy.

Officials from Ma’an and the Department of Health โ Abu Dhabi welcomed the initiative, describing it as reinforcing the emirate’s healthcare accessibility goals and its ambitions in life sciences innovation. PHRMAG’s chairman said the partnership underscores efforts to ensure uninterrupted patient access to essential medical care.
