The Boards in Common of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust have confirmed the appointment of Lyn Simpson as substantive Group Chief Executive of the Humber Health Partnership following a competitive recruitment process.
Lyn joined the Humber Health Partnership on an interim basis last summer at the request of NHS England to provide leadership and stability while addressing long-standing organisational challenges.
Since then, she has worked closely with clinicians and teams across both trusts to establish a clinically led improvement plan focused on greater alignment, clarity, and improved patient outcomes.

Alan Downey, Chair of the Humber Health Partnership, said Lyn has delivered strong and focused leadership during a critical period and that her permanent appointment provides continuity as the organisation enters its next phase of service improvement.
Jim Mackey welcomed the appointment, stating that Lynโs experience and leadership will help the trusts improve healthcare services and patient care across the region.

Lyn Simpson said “The Partnership has already made progress in understanding and addressing long-standing challenges and is now moving into the next phase with stronger clinical leadership and closer alignment with NHS England through the Intensive Recovery Programme.”
She added that while significant work remains, the organisation now has clearer direction and the right focus to deliver sustained improvements for patients and communities across the Humber region.
