The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and M42 have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand access to integrated healthcare and wellness services for Ministry employees and their eligible family members, with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention and long-term wellbeing.

The agreement was signed by H.E. Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of MoFA, and Dr Ali Anees, Chief Operating Officer for UAE and Bahrain, Global Patient Care at M42.

Under the partnership, M42 will draw on its healthcare network and expertise in primary care, family medicine, specialist services, diagnostics and preventive health to provide tailored healthcare benefits. These include priority appointment scheduling and access to specialist second opinions for complex cases, supporting informed treatment decisions and better coordination across patientsโ€™ healthcare journeys.

The collaboration builds on MoFAโ€™s existing partnership with Healthpoint, part of M42, and expands cooperation across additional medical specialties and facilities. The initiative aims to make a wider range of healthcare services available to employees and their families while supporting their individual health needs.

The partnership will cover several areas, including womenโ€™s and childrenโ€™s health, diabetes and endocrinology, renal care, primary and family medicine, and diagnostics. Services are intended to span routine check-ups, preventive screenings, specialist consultations and the management of complex conditions.

H.E. Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi affirmed that “the Ministry continues to enhance the benefits and services available to its employees to foster a supportive work environment and improve quality of life for them and their families. These efforts include expanding partnerships with public and private sector entities across various sectors, including healthcare providers in the UAE.”

Dr. Ali Anees said: โ€œGood health is the foundation of a thriving workforce and stronger communities. Through our partnership with MoFA, we are bringing M42โ€™s integrated healthcare expertise closer to employees and their families, making it easier to access the right care at the right time. By placing greater emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and coordinated care, we aim to support better long-term health outcomes and empower individuals to take a more proactive role in managing their health.โ€

The MoU also establishes a framework for continued cooperation, including potential future health and wellness initiatives tailored to the Ministryโ€™s workforce. Through these efforts, MoFA and M42 aim to raise awareness of preventive healthcare and encourage employees and their families to take a more active role in managing their health.
