Pfizer will present findings from 57 research abstracts at IDWeek 2026, highlighting developments in vaccines and treatments for infectious diseases, including pneumococcal disease, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Lyme disease and COVID-19.
The congress will take place in Washington, D.C., from 21 to 24 October 2026, with Pfizer scheduled to deliver 12 oral presentations covering clinical studies, real-world evidence and investigational vaccine programmes.
Among the key presentations are Phase 2 data for a 25-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine candidate in healthy infants, comparing its immunogenicity and safety with the existing 20-valent vaccine, PREVNAR 20. The findings will help inform the candidateโs ongoing Phase 3 paediatric development programme.

Pfizer will also present Phase 3 safety and immunogenicity findings for an updated COVID-19 vaccine targeting the LP.8.1 variant of SARS-CoV-2 in children aged 5โ11 who are at increased risk of severe disease. Additional results from the Phase 3 VALOR study will examine the efficacy and safety of a six-valent Lyme disease vaccine candidate developed by Pfizer and Valneva.
Real-world research will explore the effectiveness of the ABRYSVO RSV vaccine in older adults living in nursing homes and the impact of maternal RSV vaccination on RSV-associated hospitalisation among infants in Australia. Other studies will assess PREVNAR 20 effectiveness against invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumonia in older adults, alongside modelling of longer-term antibody protection following PENBRAYA vaccination in adolescents.
