Dr Shaikha Al Mazrouei, Research and Studies Advisor at the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), said: โThe move toward registering UAE-manufactured pharmaceutical products in a highly regulated market such as Germany is an important indicator of the development of national manufacturing capabilities and their readiness to compete globally. At the Emirates Drug Establishment, we are committed to strengthening regulatory frameworks aligned with global best practices, advancing quality and compliance, and supporting national manufacturers in meeting international requirements and expanding the global reach of UAE-manufactured medicines.โ
ADCAN Pharma leadership described the agreement as part of the UAEโs broader ambition to strengthen domestic manufacturing and compete in international markets. The company said that meeting European quality and regulatory requirements would help establish its position as an export-ready pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Dr Fokion Sinis, Chief Executive Officer, ADCAN Pharma, added: ” This important milestone will pave the way for the EU GMP inspection and certification process by the German authorities. This is about more than regulatory compliance โ it’s about proving that UAE-manufactured medicines can compete and succeed on the global stage. This partnership with Pharma Resources is a strategic gateway to European markets, and it reflects our long-term vision to make ADCAN a trusted name in international pharmaceutical manufacturing.”
Pharma Resources will provide regulatory guidance to help ADCAN Pharma navigate European product registration requirements and compliance obligations. Both companies highlighted the importance of quality standards, patient safety and a clear understanding of the European Unionโs pharmaceutical regulatory framework.
Dr Adel Merzekani, Chief Operating Officer, ADCAN Pharma elaborated ” This breakthrough will support ADCANโs ambition to enter the European market. Achieving EU GMP certification would represent a major recognition of our manufacturing and quality standards as it is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous quality benchmarks in global pharmaceutical manufacturing. It also positions ADCAN more broadly, as a credible, export-ready manufacturing hub rather than solely a domestic supplier.”ย
