The Department of Health โ Abu Dhabi (DoH) has designated SEHA Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Medical City (STMC), part of PureHealth and a SEHA subsidiary, as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for stroke, expanding access to specialised stroke care in Al Ain.
The designation strengthens Abu Dhabiโs network of stroke centres and supports the delivery of advanced treatment for patients experiencing stroke emergencies. STMC will provide comprehensive stroke management, including vascular surgery, neurosurgical interventions and advanced clot-dissolving therapies.

The medical city is accredited by the American Heart Association as a Comprehensive Stroke Centre and provides acute stroke treatment alongside integrated rehabilitation services through a specialised multidisciplinary team.
Its capabilities include AI-enhanced CT perfusion, CT angiography and MRI stroke protocols to support rapid diagnosis and treatment decisions. Tele-stroke services also enable remote specialist consultations, helping healthcare teams make timely clinical decisions during emergencies.
