Aster DM Healthcare has agreed to invest in International Modern Hospital (IMH) in Dubai as part of its planned AED 1 billion-plus healthcare investment programme in the UAE over the next five years.

The transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to strengthen the groupโ€™s hospital network and expand its capacity to meet growing demand for accessible healthcare services.

Located in Al Mankhool, IMH is a multi-specialty hospital offering a range of medical services. The addition is expected to bring 116 beds and 39 outpatient clinics into Asterโ€™s existing UAE hospital capacity of 399 beds.

Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO โ€“ GCC, Aster DM Healthcare, said, โ€œThe addition of International Modern Hospital marks an important step in Asterโ€™s growth journey in the UAE. By integrating IMHโ€™s established capabilities with Asterโ€™s integrated healthcare ecosystem, we aim to enhance patient access, expand healthcare services, and create a more connected healthcare experience. This expansion reinforces our commitment to building a future-ready healthcare network driven by clinical excellence, technology, and patient-centric care.โ€

The investment forms part of Asterโ€™s broader strategy to expand its primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary healthcare services across the UAE. Following the transaction, Aster Hospitalsโ€™ network is expected to reach six facilities in the country, while the wider groupโ€™s UAE hospital network would expand to 11 facilities.

Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO โ€“ Aster Hospitals & Clinics, UAE, Oman & Bahrain, said, โ€œInternational Modern Hospital has built a strong reputation for quality healthcare delivery in Dubai. As part of the Aster network, we look forward to combining our collective strengths, enhancing clinical capabilities, and ensuring continuity of care while delivering improved healthcare outcomes for patients.โ€

Aster said the partnership will combine IMHโ€™s established presence and clinical capabilities with its wider healthcare ecosystem, potentially improving access to specialists, referral pathways and integrated services.

The group currently operates hospitals, clinics and pharmacies across the UAE and plans to further expand its healthcare infrastructure and technology-enabled services.
