Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Eurogroup Consulting has released a new whitepaper, Own It or Outsource It? Finding a Smarter Way to Distribute Medical Devices in KSA, examining how international medical device manufacturers can adapt their distribution strategies to Saudi Arabia’s evolving healthcare market.

The report argues that traditional distributor-led models are becoming less effective as procurement processes grow more complex and healthcare providers place greater emphasis on service quality, clinical support, and local-content requirements aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

According to the whitepaper, manufacturers should retain greater oversight of strategic accounts, tender strategy, pricing governance, regulatory compliance, clinical education, service quality, local-content planning, and market intelligence, while continuing to rely on local partners for regulatory administration, logistics, warehousing, regional coverage, and after-sales support.

The report also outlines a five-stage localization roadmap, beginning with local commercial operations and progressing through service capabilities, warehousing, light assembly, and selective manufacturing where commercially justified.

In addition, the whitepaper introduces a five-part decision framework to help manufacturers evaluate market opportunities, distributor models, localization readiness, investment priorities, and organizational structures to support sustainable growth in Saudi Arabia’s medical device sector.
