The ‘Pink It Now’ campaign by Zulekha Hospital in the UAE has made a significant impact over the last 12 years, with over 15,000 women attending free breast cancer screenings and consultations. The annual initiative, in collaboration with Dubai Women’s Run and Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), aims to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasize early detection, and promote regular check-ups. As part of this year’s campaign, a special cancer support group dinner meeting emphasized the importance of providing support beyond treatments for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.
Co-Chairperson of Zulekha Hospital Ms. Zanubia Shams joined the event and said, “While we have been doing our part as a healthcare provider in raising the alarm on early detection and prevention of Breast Cancer, organisations and individuals need to step up and encourage friends and families to take the screening. Going beyond treatments, support groups and survivorship programs such as the one we are in today helps improve patient outcomes”
Beyond treatments, support groups and survivorship programs play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes. Zulekha Hospital’s ongoing efforts have resulted in thousands of women benefiting from free preventive screenings, contributing to early detection and prevention. Corporate partners have been instrumental in supporting this important cause.
