Siemens Healthineers has launched the Somatom Pro.Pulse a new Dual Source CT scanner aimed at expanding access to advanced medical imaging technology. This innovative system breaks down cost barriers, offering lower lifecycle expenses through an improved cooling system and increased power efficiency.
“With our new advanced Dual Source CT scanner, we aim to make this high-class technology available to more patients. CT exams performed on this system follow an intelligent and intuitive workflow appealing to various levels of experience. This enables standardization and reproducibility for clinicians and thus saves personnel capacities,” said Philipp Fischer, head of Computed Tomography at Siemens Healthineers.
“We are happy to finally be able to use this high-end technology in our facility. The clinical role of CT is expanding into a key player in early detection and therapy planning. Therefore, we need a high-performance system allowing exams for an even broader patient group. With Somatom Pro.Pulse we are able to perform high quality cardiac imaging, and in other areas of radiology”, said Dr. Quoc-Duy VO, head of radiology department in Morges Hospital, Switzerland
Dual Source CT scanner
Dual Source computed tomography, featuring two radiation tubes and detectors, delivers exceptional temporal resolution crucial for heart CT scans, reducing image artifacts from breathing or heart motion. The Somatom Pro.Pulse excels in providing high-quality cardiac imaging and meets the demands of various challenging clinical conditions.
The intelligent workflow of myExam Companion simplifies exams by personalizing scanning for each patient, optimizing scan parameters, and personalizing patient-specific protocols. This significantly reduces the time clinicians spend on routine tasks. The inclusion of the FAST (fully assisting scanner technologies) 3D camera ensures precise and consistent patient positioning, contributing to a streamlined and efficient diagnostic process.
The Somatom Pro.Pulse demonstrates approximately 20% lower power consumption than previous Dual Source generations, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
Furthermore, Siemens Healthineers continues to drive innovation responsibly, advancing healthcare technology for the benefit of medical professionals and patients alike.
