April 2025- Portsmouth Regional Hospital announced that Sean Patterson has been appointed chief executive officer, effective April 1, 2025.

“Sean brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership within HCA Healthcare, making him an excellent choice to lead Portsmouth Regional Hospital into its next chapter,” said Dr. William Lunn, president of HCA Healthcare Capital Division. “His deep commitment to healthcare leadership, operational excellence, and community engagement will be invaluable as he steps into this role.”

Patterson most recently served as the chief executive officer of TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn. where he successfully transformed the hospital’s culture, improved financial performance and expanded service offerings. Under his leadership, NorthCrest saw substantial improvements in patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
