Autologous stem cell transplantation involves collecting a patient’s own stem cells before administering high-dose chemotherapy and reinfusing the cells to restore bone marrow function. The treatment is widely used for eligible multiple myeloma patients to improve treatment response, extend disease control, and enhance quality of life.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Ahmed Alsaeed, Consultant of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital โ€“ Jeddah, said “That the successful completion of the hospitalโ€™s first autologous stem cell transplant reflects the institutionโ€™s advanced clinical expertise, specialized infrastructure, and state-of-the-art facilities, enabling patients to access this highly specialized treatment within the Kingdom in line with international standards.”

According to Fakeeh Care Group, the milestone reflects its commitment to delivering world-class, patient-centred cancer care. The hospital’s Oncology Center provides multidisciplinary services, including surgical, medical, and radiation oncology, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, robotic-assisted cancer surgery, and comprehensive patient support.
